Global Brands Group stimulates business opportunities for 2010 FIFA World Cup

The 2010 FIFA World CupTM Product Licensing Programme is being handled by FIFA’s exclusive Licensing Representative, Global Brands Group.  The Company’s role includes creating and selling official licensed products for retail, developing and operating FIFA-branded stores and managing all on-site merchandising at FIFA events.

Global Brands Group’s responsibilities further include identifying and negotiating with suitable potential licensees. They also monitor licensees’ promotional and sales activities and approve the use of the Official Event Marks on Official Licensed Products.

“As the South African arm of Global Brands Group it is our responsibility to ensure the FIFA brand and reputational symbols including trademarks, copyrights, graphics, logos and slogans are protected at all times. The legal agreement for companies to use these symbols is called a license which is sold to selected companies,” says Paul Zacks, General Manager of Global Brands Group.   Continue Reading

FIFA fashion range set to hit the stores

The global roll-out of the first official range of FIFA branded clothing and merchandise is set to begin later this year ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South AfricaTM.

The move follows a long-term worldwide agreement with Global Brands Group, the international brand management and licensing company, to become FIFA’s exclusive worldwide Master Licensee. Global Brands Group is to use a series of high-profile trade shows over the next few months to reveal the first FIFA Collections to the international retail industry.

The FIFA Collections, which will initially comprise five separate ranges of apparel – 1904, Editions, Code, Essentials and Trophy – is expected to be available in more than 100 FIFA Official Stores® and in an extensive network of FIFA branded retail spaces in over 12 markets around the world from August 2009 onwards.
