South African soccer needs football auditors

Rugby as usual is way ahead of the game. Jake White the former World Cup winning Springbok Rugby coach has just been assigned to do an audit on the rugby structures of the Golden Lions Rugby Union from the senior level right down to the juniors.

The underperforming Union wants to find the root cause of their malaise. The Union will act after Jake White’s company has concluded its audit and made its recommendations because surely something is seriously wrong judging by the Union’s dismal performances in the Vodacom Super 14 tournament. The exact same thing needs to be done in soccer.

Poor referring contributing to bad performance in Moçambola

In Moçambola i.e. Mozambican football league, referring is absurd and an authentic comedy leaving a lot to be desired. One wonders if there is a course for match officials or it’s a recruitment of volunteers who have the ambition to be on the spot light.

It is not easy to prove if some local referees are bribed to benefit some teams but the way the game is handled lives little doubts. I do believe, in my opinion that on the one hand some corrupt managers who can’t do their homework go on to spoil our football by bribing the game officials. Continue Reading
