Harry Redknapp has urged Uefa to discipline Mathieu Flamini after claiming the AC Milan midfielder’s tackle on Vedran Corluka could have broken the Tottenham Hotspur defender’s leg.

Corluka was stretchered off at the San Siro in the early stages of the second half of Tottenham’s hard fought 1-0 win over Milan in the first leg of the last 16 Champions League tie.

The two-footed challenge on Corluka only warranted a yellow card from referee, but Redkanpp is adamant the Frenchmen should have been dismissed.

Redknapp is still waiting for the results of an X-ray on Corluka’s injury but is optimistic that the Croatian international hasn’t suffered a broken leg.

However, the Spurs manger still wants action from Uefa for the ‘horrendous’ challenge.

“The tackle from Flamini was horrendous.” Said Redknapp

“He was two feet off the floor. It was a leg-breaking tackle. He’s done some damage to him.

“I don’t think there’s anything broken but he could have broken his leg, easily.

“I’d like them (Uefa) to have a look at the tackle. How he doesn’t give him a red card, I don’t know. That’s a tackle that breaks people’s legs.”
