The benefits of the recent 2009 Telkom Charity Cup will be felt by two fantastic organisations in Chaneng and Lesung villages who are involved in helping the less fortunate.
Platinum Stars will hand over donations to Phaphamang Home Based Care and Benevolence Organisation, assisting them in the wonderful work they do in their respective communities.
Phaphamang operates in Chaneng with the aim to address the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in the village. The group supports 105 children in the area and is a registered non-profit organisation with the Department of Social Development.
The Benevolence Organisation is operational in Lesung and focuses on giving support to families through caring for the sick, identifying the vulnerable and orphaned children and referring them to the relevant government department for further assistance. The main beneficiaries of this project are the elderly, the sick and children, who total 120 in number.
Both groups will receive donations from proceeds made at the 2009 Telkom Charity Cup, with the Platinum Stars players to lend support to the hand-over as follows:
